Repeated climate disasters—including Sidr, Aila, Bulbul, Amphan and Yaas—deepened the founders' understanding of the challenges faced by coastal communities. These realities, together with pollution and ecosystem degradation, highlighted the need for long-term, locally led climate solutions.
Young climate advocates from northern and southern Bangladesh came together to amplify affected communities' voices, strengthen resilience and connect climate education, advocacy, grassroots action and community innovation.
The CliMates believes climate-vulnerable communities deserve strong platforms that amplify their voices, protect their rights and unlock their ability to lead resilient lives.

As a youth-led organization, The CliMates is committed to fostering climate leadership, advancing nature-positive solutions and supporting communities through research, innovation, advocacy and grassroots action.

We promote sustainable income opportunities through eco-friendly agriculture, green entrepreneurship and renewable-energy initiatives that improve household stability while reducing environmental impact.

We support solar, biogas and energy-efficient technologies that reduce emissions, lower energy costs and strengthen access to cleaner energy in rural communities.
